Supporting and empowering your family through grief and loss

About Me

I worked for many years in the property sales industry and most recently moved into the care sector. Working in a care home gave me the opportunity to work with families making tough decisions about future care for their loved ones and our conversations often lead to their wishes at end of life and help them to choose a funeral director. My move to become a Funeral Celebrant was cemented when I planned my father-in-law's funeral last year and I admired the celebrant we worked with on the day. I want to hold the space for families in the way he did.

FUNERAL SERVICES “A proper send-off”

Thank you for visiting my website. I trained with the Academy of Modern Celebrancy, having spent the major part of my career in the property sales industry and care sectors. I am also a qualified Grief Support Volunteer, having trained with Curse Bereavement Care.

It would be my honour to help you plan the funeral or memorial you want for your loved one. There are many types of funeral services, all of which can be highly personalised, enabling you to say farewell in the way you would like.

I am here to support you through this process of organising a funeral ceremony. I can be as involved as you'd like me to be - I can organise all of it, or I can accompany you and simply be the officiant on the day.
I support and empower your family through loss and grief.

MEMORIALS & CELEBRATION OF LIFE “Some stars shine well after they’ve gone.”

Memorials and Celebration of Life ceremonies are ceremonies that can happen after someone has been cremated already (direct cremation) or buried.

These ceremonies can take place away from the funeral setting. These aren’t typically religious or traditional, however, they can be if you choose. They focus on the joy your loved one bought into the world, the impact they had on the people in their lives and celebrate the fact they lived and not that they are gone. It is a time to gather and share stories of your loved one together, to celebrate their accomplishments. It’s a time to celebrate and give thanks for a life well lived.

As the celebrant, I create this ceremony for you. I can help you choose the location for this celebration. It can be in a garden or by a lake, or even abroad. You have the freedom and flexibility to make this as personal as it can be. I can also support you with the music, the readings – whatever your wishes are.

SCATTERING & INTERMENT “A place to remember”

These ceremonies take place at a significant location for your loved one. It is a location that meant something to your loved one, a poignant place for you and your family to remember them and is one that you choose. It is a highly personal and ceremonial moment. These ceremonies can also take place at any time. It can even be years after someone has been cremated.

As your celebrant, I can help you choose this location according to your wishes. I can advise if you are legally permitted to do so, and let you know of the various options that are available to you.

I also officiate on the day and facilitate the ceremony for you. I pull it all together and say the words that help you say goodbye to your loved one and grieve in their special place. I can help you choose the readings. I can also organise this event, so you have little to think about.
Interment

Interments are where ashes are buried in the ground. Much like scattering services, these ceremonies take place at a significant location for your loved one and can take place at any time. In contrast to other services, these are much more low-key and simple with only a few short readings. However, you will still have a place to visit to remember your loved one.

As your celebrant, I can help you choose the receptacle your loved one is buried in. I can help you choose the location according to your wishes. I can advise if you are legally permitted to do so, and let you know of the various options that are available to you.

I can also help you choose the readings for this service. I pull it all together and say the words that help you say goodbye to your loved one and grieve in their special place.

BESPOKE CEREMONIES “As I’d like it”

This is where you plan your own funeral ceremony well in advance from start to finish with your own words and wishes. This option is available to anyone.

As your celebrant, I can help you through this process. I can help you write your own life story (eulogy) and sort all the practical elements of a funeral service – from the readings and flowers to the music and guests.

When the time comes, I will work with your chosen funeral director to carry out your wishes and conduct the service or, if this is not possible, ensure that a trusted colleague does so on my behalf. Please let your loved ones and those closest to you know that you have done this and keep your copy of the full service in a safe place. This can be amended or updated at any time, and I will also have a copy.

This service is entirely personal to you, and I am here to support you through this process. I am here to set out all the options you have so you can organise your funeral as you’d like it to be.
